Gentlemen of the Row v1.9 Beta 13

I was going to wait for the weekend and do some more testing, but there are some pretty important bugfixes in this release and wanted to get it out as soon as possible. As always, you can grab the latest and greatest releases on the beta download page.

v1.9 BETA 13 CHANGELOG

Police Animation Optional Mod by IdolNinja based on info from Kaz and Innocent Sam

The Police Animation mod changes the player animations to the Police ones for the following weapons:
Single wield pistols
Single wield SMGs
Some shotguns (spas12, tombstone)
Rifles

You can find this optional mod in the Animation submenu of the installer.

NOTE: The Run animations for the police pistol and smg do not support firing. Use dual pistols or uzis to use the old animations if you want to move and fire at the same time.

Female Weapon Walk Animations Optional Mod by Philtastic and Ocyris

The Female Weapon Walk Animation mod changes the player’s walk to be more feminine when holding various weapons. You can find this optional mod in the Animation menu of the installer.

Super Girly Female Animation by nissinprincess

Changes the player’s run and stand animation to be super girly. The file links and mod from nissinprincess were long dead so I had to redo the work to integrate it as an optional mod. This optional mod can be in the Animation menu of the installer, and also includes the Female Weapon Walk Animations.

Rapid Fire RPG, Super Tornado, and Satchel Nuke Optional Mods by IdolNinja

You can now select the following mods in the Weapon submenu of the optional mod installer:

* Rapid Fire Rocket Launcher

* Super Tornado – Burst fire rockets, Mini-Nuke explosion, 10x hitpoints – based on a rapidfire Tornado mod concept by jsmilex

* Super Tornado (non-nuke) by request   – Same as the Super Tornado but without the nuke explosion

* Satchel Nukes – Adds the new Mini-Nuke explosions to the satchel! based on an idea by Minimaul

WARNING! Weapon mods are incompatible in coop unless your partner has the same mods!

WARNING! ALL weapons in the game will be modified, including enemy ones! Be careful!

Misc Homie Pack Optional Mod by IdolNinja

The following homies are now available with this optional mod:

* Crazy Salesman – New Vehicle Delivery Service Homie (replaces Legal Lee)
* Shaundi Repair Outfit – Replaces Shaundi
* Carlos Prison Outfit – Replaces Carlos
* The Judge from Gat’s trial – Replaces Jane Valderama
* Mr. Wong’s Translator – Replaces Troy
* Laura – Replaces Luz
* Richie – Replaces Zombie Carlos

You can find this optional mod in the Misc menu of the installer.

More Gang Vehicle Customization by IdolNinja

The following vehicles are now selectable in gang customization:
O-Ring
El Train
Staus Quo
The Job
Cruiser (Five-O)
Grizzly (Bear)
FBI SUV
Quota

MISC TWEAKS AND FIXES

Added the original take a bow compliment back in for gangs so they use that instead of the take a picture for their gang sign. Apparently Gang Sign Customization has never worked properly, even in vanilla. It always defaults to Compliment B (now changed back.)
NOTE: This compliment has only been changed for gang members! The player’s take a picture compliment is still the same!

Fixed invisible gang members for Strippers and Food Gangs

Fixed Super Girly stand animation

Fixed AS14 fine aim firing for cop animations

Fixed rn05 Orange Threat Level black mid-cutscene issue after it plays.

Fixed optional mod installer for original spray tags

    Where can I download the beta 11

    • IdolNinja says:

      @Sacha
      You can’t. Beta 11 has long ago been replaced by Beta 12 and now with Beta 13. There is no reason to be using an older beta version that has less features and more bugs.

  2. Jon says:

    WARNING! Weapon mods are incompatible in coop unless your partner has the same mods!

    Wrong. Played with someone yesterday without autofire rocket launcher, nuke satchels etc And it worked fine.

  3. Jon says:

    @Idol
    Now that I think of it, I didn’t save so it may just be that It will only corrupt if you save the game.

    • IdolNinja says:

      @Jon
      It’s a very weird situation with weapon mods where something corrupts and you can no longer play coop with other people with that save. I’ve seen it happen repeatedly with even the most innocent seeming changes to weapons.xtbl. Another symptom is that it screws up infinite ammo permanently the next time you change a weapon in that slot, so it could be something you don’t notice right away.

      The bottom line is to never play coop with different weapon mods to be safe.

      Also, if you didn’t save then there shouldn’t be any issue.

  4. Sacha says:

    How do I install the beta 13?

  5. Truthslayer says:

    About how many times can one keep updating the mod on their end and still use the same save game without corruption or needing to restart?

    • IdolNinja says:

      @Truthslayer
      If you see save corruption then it’s likely not the mod, but the game itself. That’s why you should keep multiple save files just in case.

  6. generalm13 says:

    my game crashes on the sons of samedi mission with the 4 druglabs you have to burn, after the mission is over and the cutscene with the general and his 2nd hand man ends the game crashes, happened twice now

  7. benj says:

    why there are mods on PC and not PS3

    • IdolNinja says:

      @benj
      Because the PC is designed to do stuff like this. It’s an open system whereas consoles are a closed system and don’t have the hardware resources. We broke the memory limitations of the original game to allow a lot of these mods to work, so there is no way they could run on console hardware with their limited memory. Also, the console files are in a much different format.

      The bottom line is that it is extremely unlikely, if not completely impossible, that you will ever see sr2 modding on the consoles. Even if you could, I have zero interest in modding something that would only benefit pirates who have modded their consoles, and not legit players.

  8. Raptamei says:

    Bug: the Destroy no longer has its abduction beam entry animation, and when you disembark you sometimes (depends on the angle) appear inside the model unable to get out unless you have the samurai sword and bash the thing away.

    • IdolNinja says:

      @Raptamei
      Are you sure? Nothing has changed on the D-stroy since like the final public v1.6 almost a year ago. I’ll check it out too, but I can’t think of anything that could have affected it in that way.

  9. Zac says:

    would there be a way to convert modded pc save files (mainly just weapons, vehicles or gang customization) to ps3. even if you stripped the mods right down to the basics (i dont really care if weapons didn’t work, it would just be cool to have it in your cache.
    (also people mannaged to mod mw2 on ps3, with gold d-eagles, flyable helicopters, etc, so you it might be possible to mod sr2, your work is amazing)

    • IdolNinja says:

      @Zac
      I neither have the time, nor the inclination to do anything with consoles and modding. To me, consoles are like toys. Fun to play with, but you’ll never have the tools to really do great things like on the PC. Plus, modding on consoles generally only serves pirates. I feel very strongly against that and will not work to support it.

    Thought I’d replay ol SR2 again before SR3 comes along. Great to see modders still working on things for it. Great work, I’m enjoying GotR alot. :D

    Lets hope SR3 is more mod friendly and allows for more custom content.
