Saints Row 3 News!

Supposedly the cover and another pic about SR3 for the upcoming issue of Game Informer was leaked. It’s not officially confirmed by Volition yet, but the general consensus seems to be that it is real.

    OH FUCK YES.

    Hopefully they wont botch this one, and make it modifiable!!!

    I see Kinect in the legal print. Not sure what I think of this all the sudden. I really hope kinect support is not what Volition considers “mind blowing.”

      I’m sure it will be optional though if it is.

      I’m not a big fan of motion control, but Kinect + Hoing diversion could be good for some laughs (unless someone walks in on you.) ;)

    @ rudemaker
    that is IF they announce a PC version.

      The PC logo on the poster is a really good sign. Also, recent THQ and Volition releases seem to always get a PC port. I can’t think of any title that hasn’t in the last few years.

    Power to the PC gamers!!!!!! Shame on companies that don’t let us play on our precious computers (I.E Naughty dog with Uncharted, and Epic Games with Gears of War)!!!!!!! :)

  7. Jon says:

    @Koen
    That actually sounds pretty epic even though they aren’t even trying lol

    @Idol
    Dear God I hope.

  8. Jon says:

    And yes, I’m willing to bet that the PC port is gonna be by Volition and at the same time as the other release, Volition hasn’t sold the port to another company since SR2 and they’ve made games since then that are probably harder to port.

    I also remembered that this approx. release is about the same time that the PS3 is supposed to get Steamworks support. Volition has loved Steam in the past, so maybe We’ll get to see cross-platform interaction.
    That would be lovely.

    • IdolNinja says:

      @Jon
      Actually, that’s not correct. Reactor Zero did the PC port of Red Faction Guerilla. According to Volition’s community manager they were happy with the RGF port, and will likely use them again on future projects.

  9. Jon says:

    @Idol

    I stand corrected.
    I really hope they scrap using Games for Windows Live though. I had to jump through some pretty intricate hoops to get RFG to work.

      @Jon
      I think most gamers would prefer they ditch GFWL. It’s a terrible service with very few benefits and simply adds an extra layer of unneeded complexity. Not to mention that many people have issues with it deleting saves and other shenanigans.

  10. Jon says:

    @Idol

    Agreed.
    So Idol, what are your plans when SR3 comes out? Are you going to start modding SR3 for Gentlemen of the Row or will you keep going with SR2?

    Kind of unrelated, but in the next beta, can you make it so satchel charges don’t disappear when they hit water?

    • IdolNinja says:

      @Jon
      I really have no idea about modding SR3 yet until it comes out. It’s simply a matter of inspiration and if I feel like doing stuff.

      I’ll take a look and see if there is anything I can do with the satchel behavior and water.

    I think THQ and Volition’s sales promotion style is not good.
    Other big games will be released in this autumn.
    They have to fight against Other big titles.
    Their secretiveness stance is like a gamble.
    I never compare SR2 and SR3.
    I’ll compare GotR and SR3.Because I love GotR than SR2.

  12. rudemaker says:

    I actually doubt that SR3 will have a different engine then the previous 2. Really it would be hard to believe that they they would when you can still find the hair saloons from SR1. So I dont think modding would be very difficult if you ask me. Even if they do change the system for something better or worse then it still can be modded because everythings gotta go somewhere.
