Both Koch Media and Volition had some extremely positive things to say about the future of the Saints Row franchise and the studio itself. Dan Cermak, Volition’s General Manager was quoted as saying that “[Koch Media] love Saints Row and the idea behind it,” and that “over-the-top game play is integral to their success.” He also stated that all Volition employees have been retained, and that they will continue to develop Saints Row 4.
Geoff Mulligan, COO of Deep Silver (Koch Media’s publishing arm) was quoted saying “Saints Row and Metro hold a special place in the hearts and minds of anyone who loves exceptional video games.” Koch Media’s CEO Klemens Kundratitz also called Saints Row “magnificent.” He went on to state that he was proud to welcome “the visionaries and talented forces at Volition.”
Another great piece of news from the article is that there is no longer any pressure on Volition regarding quarterly earning projections since Koch Media is a private company; unlike THQ which had publicly traded stock.
The bottom line is that Volition now gets a home for all their talent with a company that loves their work and is going to support them fully while also taking off all the pressure they were under so they can make the best Saints Row game they possibly can.
im not holding my fingers crossed.
Oh thank god! The world of Saints Row was so diverse and detailed and I couldn’t just let it go just like that…Well, I guess if there was no choice I’d still want an alternate ending DLC. Johnny Gat anyone? ;P
Good! Sounds good.
