When it’s ready? Sorry, I don’t have an ETA yet.

By: NIko Fri, 25 Mar 2011 14:13:05 +0000 So when will the next version of Saints Row 2 PowerTool please ? :)

By: Degree Mon, 30 Aug 2010 03:25:37 +0000 Ahh, I bought my game from Harvey Normal but use a crack to bypass steam… I only recently got the internet back on and have never liked steam.

By: Degree Mon, 30 Aug 2010 03:23:19 +0000 Is it normal that my game runs fast but the cutscenes run normal without using anything?

By: Degree Mon, 30 Aug 2010 03:12:27 +0000 Either way if I can’t get it to work, you my friend are a credit to this game. I applaud your efforts at making it work again for Win 7.

Thank you very much.

If it’s slowing down the cutscenes too, then that’s an indication of a serious Direct X problem. I would suggest reinstalling the version of DirectX from the sr2 folder, and also installing the latest libraries from Microsoft:

As for the crashing, try running the game windowed. There have been reported issues of crashing problems running fullscreen which seem to go away completely if windowed.

FYI – Powertools will only work correctly with the encrypted Steam exe.

By: Degree Sat, 28 Aug 2010 10:42:55 +0000 Sorry, I spoke too soon.
Crashes on the cutscene straight after recruiting mission… Which sucks cos that mission is boooring and takes forever.

By: Degree Sat, 28 Aug 2010 09:05:52 +0000 Finally got it working after it crashing the game every cutscene.

But I have read that powertools fixes cutscenes… But now I notice instead of running too fast the cutscenes run way too slowly. Anyone else have this trouble?

And by the way.. FANTASTIC job on GOTR and Powertools… The fast forward bug being ignored it a travesty I compare to the uncustomisable controls of Scarface on PC. Well Done!

Glad to hear that you get it all sorted out, and that the reinstall worked. It’s good to know for any other users who have the same issue. :)

SR2 Powertools Public Beta Release

April 24th, 2010

After a massive effort from Rafael Rivera and myself, we are both proud to announce the public beta release of SR2 Powertools rev 5. This release fixes the speedup issues for SR2 while playing in Windows 7 without desync’ing the cutscene audio like Cheat Engine does. In addition, it also provides debug_print functionality for lua scripts and shows realtime xyz coordinates of the player which can be toggled off and on with scroll lock.

You will need to figure out your correct speed though and set it manually in the .ini. This should be the same value you use in cheat engine. If you are having trouble determining the correct speed, I still have my original speedup stopwatch test available. A perfect sync time for the race should 1:42.34. As long as you are within a second or two you should be ok using that value.
